Amy Wang, violin

A longtime player on the Southern California early music scene, Amy Wang has performed with Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra, Musica Angelica, Tesserae Baroque and Bach Collegium San Diego. Further afield, she has appeared with Bay Area groups Voices of Music, Philharmonia Baroque, and the California Bach Society.

As a film studies undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley, she began the permanent switch from modern to baroque violin performance under the guidance of David Tayler and Elizabeth Blumenstock, and subsequently performed at the Berkeley Early Music Festival as a semifinalist in the American Bach Soloists International Young Artists Competition. At the University of Southern California she played in the early music ensemble led by James Tyler while receiving her Master of Fine Arts in screenwriting from the School of Cinematic Arts.
