Leyla Zamora is a bassoonist and contra-bassoonist in the San Diego Symphony Orchestra in California. She studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and at Baylor University in Texas. Zamora is an avid Baroque bassoon player, performing with Kensington Baroque Orchestra, Angelus Baroque, Bach Collegium San Diego, the Baroque Music Festival, Corona del Mar, and several Baroque chamber music groups. She has studied Baroque bassoon with Robyn Howell, Lorenzo Alpert and Katryn Lazar. In September 2026 Zamora will participate in the Baroque Bassoon Symposium in Innsbruck, Austria.
