Melissa Rodgers Woodrow is an active freelance musician based in Los Angeles. She has performed with early music and contemporary music ensembles in the United States and abroad, and has recorded for film and television on both modern and baroque trumpets. In the United States, she has performed with numerous period instrument ensembles, including American Bach Soloists, Americus Brass Band, Bach Collegium San Diego, Musica Angelica, Opera Neo, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Portland Baroque Orchestra, and Tesserae Baroque. She has also played modern trumpet and cornet with a variety of groups such as the Ars Nova Players (cabaret), Musica Povera (new music), Golden State British Brass Band, Mariachi Nueva Generacion, and a variety of local musical theater orchestras.

Rodgers Woodrow holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Historic Performance Practices from Claremont Graduate University and a Master of Music degree in Baroque Trumpet Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music. Melissa enjoys working with young musicians of all levels and finds particular delight in watching beginner players grow and find joy in music. She was formerly the trumpet instructor at the Orange County High School of the Arts; has taught lessons and given masterclasses and lectures at CSU Fullerton, CSU Long Beach and USC; and continues to enjoy working with her private students as well as trumpet sections at various K-12 schools.
